Reworked Tutorials and Documentation
The tutorial and documentation set has undergone a substantial rework , designed to provide users with a clearer overview and easier starting points for their own simulation setups.
Validation Cases
A set of new Validation Cases is now available. These cases are grouped to validate results against experimental or numerical data from literature. The documentation for these cases is comprehensive:
- It describes the case setup
- it shows the simulation results
- it includes a proper comparison with the expected simulation results
- it discusses any deviations from the reference results

Use cases

A separate collection of Use Cases has been introduced. These represent a set of applications that are closer to real-world scenarios.
They serve as practical starting points for deriving new simulation setups and include examples like the Ergun case for different particle shapes.
Enhanced Model Support and Coarsegraining
Several key improvements have been made to the underlying models and data handling:
- Particle-Based Coarse-Graining Support: All force models are now fully compatible with particle-based coarse-graining.
- Drag Model Enhancement: The ShirgaonkarIB drag model now includes support for the scaleDrag keyword.
- Improved Heat Transfer Setup: The LaEuScalarTemp model features automatic retrieval of particle data for density and thermal capacity. This replaces the need for manual settings previously required for automatic temperature blending, simplifying the setup process.
The CFDEMcoupling ParaView macro has been updated for compatibility with ParaView 6.0.
